I was so busy traveling the latter part of 2014, that I didn’t take the time to write. I traveled to New Mexico in November to help my aunt celebrate her 89th birthday then spent a few days exploring Santa Fe. My cousin had told me that the weather is usually mild in November so we were not prepared for the low temperatures we experienced. It was in the 20’s in Albuquerque and we woke up in Santa Fe to 19 degrees. It was cold! Our hotel of choice was the Santa Fe Hotel. I checked it out on TripAdvisor, it got a good reviews. I checked prices on Expedia and Hotels.com but I was able to get the best rate by going directly to the hotel web site. The hotel was full of southwest culture and the accommodations were comfortable and clean. It is a suite hotel and provided shuttle service in an interesting little purple car, This service, shuttles guests back and forth to town and to destinations within a one mile radius.
It seems that we met unusual weather every where we went. In December, we had four consecutive days of constant rain during our week in Jamaica. It was no consolation, but I was told that much rain was highly unusual for December in Jamaica. We did manage to enjoy our 3 remaining days of sunshine. Our accommodations at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios were excellent. We had a one bedroom villa with private pool. It is an all inclusive resort. The restaurants and food were exceptional.
Well its the new year and it’s time to get back to sharing. This is a great time for travel. Many of the cruise lines are having sales and the airlines are deciding whether or not they want to raise fares and when. If you are planning to travel this year it’s time to plan and make reservations. As I am partial to cruising, I will usually suggest a great cruise as as way to see the world.
This year I am planning to do an Alaskan Cruise. Everyone has told me it is a fantastic experience. I also have never cruised Hawaii, so if any of you have suggestions for cruising Hawaii, please fill me in. I will be sure to share that experience with my blog friends. Originally, this was my year to cruise the West Coast of Africa. I had researched the Diamond Princess which sails from Cape Town to London. Because of all the Ebola drama, I have decided to postpone that decision. Make 2015 your year to expand your horizons and see places you have yet to see. Travel is a way to make you a more interesting, informed and enlightened person.
